So this week has been a rough week for My Chemical Romance fans. We learned that MCR has called it quits. It is sad to see a band come to an end but, it was their choice so as a fan I respect it.
I remember being in middle school and I was in HOT TOPIC looking at some random things. I came across their first album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. I thought hmm lemme check them out. I fell in love with my first two favorite MCR songs “Vampires will never hurt you” & “Demolition Lovers” I fell in love with their sound so quickly.
Soon after I learned they were from Bellevile, New Jersey. I lived in Passaic New Jersey at the time so I was excited to know a band from North Jersey. I learned that a member also worked at our local Barnes & Noble.
Soon later Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge was out and the video I’m not okay came out on MTV. I flipped out and screamed. They made it! They were big now and I was so excited. I’m not Okay, Ghost of You, Helena, To the End, & Give Them Hell Kid became my next set of favorites.
More music videos came out. They worked with the brilliant Mark Webb during these years and he made the best videos with them. Articles began to be printed during these times. The Herald News & Daily News wrote so many things about them. I collected all the articles and still own them to this day.
The next album was Welcome To The Black Parade. Another thrilling album from them. This is how I disapear, Mama, Cancer, Teenagers, Famous Last Words, & Blood were my favorite songs.
And finally Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. Ahh crazy songs like Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) Sing, Party Poision. Scarecrow, The Kids from yesterday & Vampire Money
Either way I am happy to say I was and forever will be a My Chemical Romance Fan. A true fan from the very start till the end. A true Jersey fan. Thank You Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro, Frank Iero, Bob Bryar, Matt Pelissier. Thank You Eyeball Records, Reprise Records, & Warner Brothers Music for everything. You gave us songs we shall never forget
